Typically 6 months to 2 years, depending on diet and habits. Coffee, red wine, and smoking bring staining back faster. A yearly touch-up keeps most patients at their post-treatment shade.

02 · Clear aligners
Invisalign is a clear, removable aligner system that straightens teeth gradually without metal brackets, fitted and monitored by Dr. Cecile at Smiles By Dr. Cecile in Makati.
Traditional braces bond metal brackets to each tooth and tighten a wire on schedule. Invisalign moves teeth the same way, but through custom clear trays you swap every one to two weeks. Dr. Cecile scans your bite, maps the full movement plan, then has each stage produced from it. You wear the trays 20 to 22 hours a day and remove them to eat, brush, and floss, so nothing changes about how you clean your teeth. Mild crowding can resolve in four to six months. More involved bite corrections run closer to a year. Every case starts with a consultation and a real timeline, not a marketing one.
Most patients finish in 4 to 12 months, depending on how much movement is needed. Dr. Cecile gives you a specific estimate at your first scan, not a general range.
Invisalign trades wire-adjustment soreness for a few days of pressure each time you switch trays. Most patients call it noticeable but manageable, and it fades faster than a braces tightening visit.

Corrective orthodontics treats a bite that has already set, using braces, Invisalign, or a splint, chosen by how the teeth and jaw are actually misaligned. Adults who missed treatment as kids usually go straight to corrective care. Dr. Cecile examines the bite first and tells you which stage applies before recommending anything.

04 · Implant dentistry
A dental implant replaces a missing tooth root with a titanium post that fuses to the jawbone, topped with a crown, restoring bite strength that a bridge or denture can't match.
Losing a tooth leaves the jawbone underneath to shrink without a root to stimulate it. A dental implant is a titanium post placed where the root used to be. Over 3 to 6 months it fuses with the bone, a process called osseointegration, then Dr. Cecile attaches a custom crown shaped and shaded to match your other teeth. Unlike a bridge, which loads the two neighboring teeth, an implant stands on its own. Unlike a denture, it doesn't shift when you bite down. The tradeoff is time: a bridge takes two visits, an implant takes months to heal.
It depends on bone condition, whether a graft is needed first, and the crown material. Dr. Cecile gives an exact quote after an x-ray and consultation, since every case is different.
Placement is done under local anesthesia, so the procedure itself isn't painful. Expect mild soreness for 2 to 3 days after, similar to an extraction, managed with over-the-counter pain relief.
05 · Oral surgery

Afterward, a blood clot needs to stay in place for 24 to 48 hours: no rinsing, spitting, or drinking through a straw. Most patients are back to normal eating within a week, and Dr. Cecile tells you upfront whether the space needs a bridge, an implant, or nothing at all.
The extraction itself is done under local anesthesia, so you shouldn't feel pain during it. Expect soreness and mild swelling for 2 to 3 days after, managed with pain relief and soft food.

Beyond aligners, Dr. Cecile fits custom oral appliances molded from an exact impression of your bite. A retainer holds teeth in place after orthodontic treatment, worn nightly or as directed. A TMJ splint eases jaw joint pain and clicking by keeping the bite relaxed overnight. Because each appliance is molded to your teeth specifically, it fits more securely and lasts longer than an over-the-counter version.
A custom retainer is molded from an exact impression of your teeth, so it holds the specific position your treatment achieved. A generic version doesn't match your bite closely enough to hold it.
07 · Checkups & guards
